Printer Alignment Test Page

Run a printer alignment test to check margins, grid squareness, and page registration — print it directly from your browser in seconds.

What to Look For

Even grid squares

Every square in the grid should be a uniform 0.5in — stretched or uneven squares usually mean your print dialog is scaling the page instead of printing at 100%.

Centered crosshair

The crosshair should sit exactly in the middle of the printed page. If it's noticeably off to one side, your margins or paper alignment need adjusting.

Sharp corner marks

The four corner brackets should be crisp single lines, not doubled or blurred — doubling points to a print head alignment problem rather than a paper issue.

Matched diagonals

The two diagonal lines should cross exactly at the center circle. If they meet off-center, the page fed in skewed — check your paper tray guides.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I run a printer alignment test?

Open this page, press Ctrl+P (Cmd+P on Mac), set scaling to 100%/Actual size, and print — then compare the grid, corner marks, and diagonals against what a properly aligned printer should produce.

Why aren't my printed grid squares square?

This is almost always a print scaling setting, not a hardware fault — check that "Fit to page" or "Shrink to fit" is turned off in your print dialog and scaling is set to 100%.

What does it mean if the page prints skewed?

A skewed page usually means the paper fed in slightly crooked — straighten your paper stack and snug the tray's width guides against it, then reprint.
